A free plan: one parent, the daily check-in, no time limit
From 2 October, the daily WhatsApp check-in, the reminder, family alerts, SOS and the emergency card are free for one parent. What is in it, what is not, and why we can afford it.

What is free
- The daily WhatsApp check-in in any of our languages, for one parent.
- The reminder when they do not reply.
- The alert to the whole family when something is wrong, and the SOS word.
- The emergency card that opens offline.
What is in the full plan
The phone call when they stay quiet, the neighbour step, the afternoon, evening and night medicine reminders, readings and lab reports read into trends, the monthly doctor-ready summary and the care desk in India — $12 a month or $99 a year for up to two parents and four family members, after 14 days free with no card.
Why free is possible
A WhatsApp message costs a fraction of a cent; a phone call in India or the US does not. The free plan contains everything that is nearly free to run and nothing that is not. It is also the honest trigger for the full plan: the first morning a parent on the free plan does not reply, the family alert says what the full plan would have done — phoned them — and lets the family decide.
Also on 2 October
The Android app went public on Google Play, the family app gained Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic and Indonesian, and the service launched on Product Hunt.
