Daily check-in in Marathi for your parents (मराठी)

A daily WhatsApp check-in and follow-up phone call in Marathi for your parents in India. See the exact messages they receive, and the replies they can give.

Pune and Mumbai have sent a generation of their children abroad, and many parents now live by themselves in the flats those children grew up in.

A check-in in Marathi is answered more readily than one in Hindi or English, and an unwell parent says more in their own language.

What your parent sees, in Marathi

These are the real messages, exactly as they are sent. The English under each one is for you; your parent sees only the Marathi.

If they do not answer

About three hours later your parent gets a gentle reminder, and then a phone call in Marathi. If the calls are not answered, you are alerted, and then the local contacts you chose.
