Check-ins and calls in ten Indian languages
Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi and English — for the daily message, the buttons and the phone call.
Why language is not a detail
A parent who has to work out what a message means will stop answering it. A parent who is addressed as "ji", "amma" or "kaka", in their own script, answers — and tells you when something is wrong.
What is translated
- The consent message and its buttons.
- The daily check-in, the reminder and the replies.
- Medicine reminders and reading requests.
- The phone call.
- Messages to local contacts.
Replies are understood in their language
Parents answer in their own words: "le li", "saptaen", "ledu", "ho gaya". Free-text replies, including mixed Hindi-English or Tamil-English, are understood. Words that suggest an emergency are recognised in all ten languages.
Each parent has their own language
Your mother can receive Tamil and your father-in-law Gujarati, on the same plan. You use the family app in English or Hindi.

How we handle respect
Indian languages have more than one word for "you", and the wrong one is rude to an elder. Every message uses the respectful form, and addresses your parent by the name you give — "Kamala ji", "Lakshmi amma", "Sharma uncle" — exactly as you type it.
Changing language
You can change a parent’s language at any time from their page in the app. The next message arrives in the new language.
