The short answer
AyoCheck and Athnova Care start from the same idea: the parent installs nothing, a check-in arrives on WhatsApp (AyoCheck also uses LINE), and one tap says “I’m okay”. The differences are where and in which language. AyoCheck is available in Australia as of October 2026, in English, Chinese, Indonesian and Japanese, and notifies the contacts you listed, in order, when there is no reply. Athnova Care serves a parent in any country where they use WhatsApp, in 21 languages including ten Indian ones, Urdu, Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese, and follows silence with a reminder, a phone call in 25 countries, the family and a neighbour. If your parent is in Australia and speaks Chinese or Japanese, look at AyoCheck first. If your parent is in India, the Gulf, Latin America, Africa or Europe, or speaks an Indian language, Athnova Care is built for exactly that.

What AyoCheck does well
It is honest about its scope and clear in its flow: two taps, contacts in order, nothing for the parent to learn. Its pages written separately for the family owner, the parent and a person living alone are a good model, and its LINE support matters for Japanese-speaking parents, whom almost nobody else serves. For a Chinese- or Japanese-speaking parent in Australia it is the obvious first look.
What Athnova Care does differently
Athnova Care was built for a family spread across countries: the child in New Jersey, Toronto, London or Dubai, the parent in Lucknow, Chennai, Lahore, Manila, São Paulo or Bucharest. So the check-in goes out in the parent’s own language (21 languages), on the app they already open fifty times a day — WhatsApp — or, for a parent without it, as an ordinary phone call where they press 1. Silence is treated as a signal: a reminder, then a call, then the family, then a neighbour or relative who can knock on the door. Alerts quote the emergency number of the country the parent lives in, never a generic one.
Around that loop sit the things families abroad spend their evenings on: medicines and refills, readings and lab reports, an emergency card that opens offline, and a doctor-ready summary every month. None of it diagnoses or advises; the parent’s own doctor stays in charge.
Which one for your family
- Your parent is in Australia and speaks Chinese or Japanese, or uses LINE: AyoCheck.
- Your parent is in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Gulf, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Germany, Türkiye, Romania, Indonesia or the Philippines: Athnova Care.
- Your parent speaks an Indian language, Urdu, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese or French: Athnova Care.
- You want a phone call before the family is alerted, and a neighbour at the end of the ladder: Athnova Care.
- Your parent has no WhatsApp at all: Athnova Care, by daily phone call.
Can they be combined?
Yes, technically: AyoCheck and Athnova Care do not interfere with each other. In practice two daily check-ins annoy most parents, so pick one for the morning question. Some families use Athnova Care for a parent abroad or one who does not speak English, and AyoCheck for a relative in the United States who prefers it.
