FamAI vs ANSR HealthAI vs Athnova Care: which suits your parents?
Three WhatsApp services for parents in India compared: what each does daily, what happens when a parent goes quiet, languages and prices in October 2026.
By the Athnova Care team · Updated
The short answer
All three work inside WhatsApp, so your parent installs nothing. FamAI is an assistant your parent talks to: reminders, readings, scam checks, recipes. ANSR HealthAI is a shared care timeline: the parent replies in their own words and the family sees one record. Athnova Care is a daily safety loop: one question a day, and if there is no answer, a phone call, then the family, then a neighbour. The right one depends on whether your main worry is help for your parent, a shared record, or knowing every day that they are all right.

What FamAI does well
It is built around what the parent asks for: a recipe, a greeting card for a grandchild, whether a forwarded message is a scam. For a parent who likes to chat on WhatsApp and will use voice notes, that is a real daily companion, and the medicine reminders come with a confirmation step. As of October 2026 the site says it is launching soon and free to join.
What ANSR HealthAI does well
It keeps everything in one place for a family that is already coordinating care: medicines, readings, meals, reports and the notes of a caregiver or nurse, with a daily email that points out what changed. Parents reply in their own words rather than with buttons. The 90-day full trial without a card is generous, and a free Basic plan follows it.
What Athnova Care does differently
Athnova Care starts from the question families abroad actually lie awake with: would we know if something happened today? So the day has one fixed point — the morning check-in — and silence is treated as a signal. No reply brings a reminder, then a phone call in your parent’s language, then an alert to every family member, then a WhatsApp message and a call to the neighbour or relative you added. A parent who says they are unwell, or writes a word like “chest pain” or “fell”, raises an alert at once. Everything else — reminders, readings, reports, refills, the monthly summary — hangs off that loop.
It is also the only one of the three with a daily phone call for a parent who does not use WhatsApp, and with the emergency number of the country your parent lives in, for parents outside India.
Which one for your family
- Your parent is comfortable chatting and wants help with everyday things, scams included: FamAI.
- Several people share the care and you want one shared record with a daily email: ANSR HealthAI.
- You want to know every single day that your parent is all right, with a call and a neighbour if they go quiet: Athnova Care.
- Your parent does not use WhatsApp, or lives outside India: Athnova Care, by daily phone call or with the local emergency number.
- You want the cheapest start: all three have a free part. Check what each one does on the day your parent does not reply.
Can they be combined?
Yes. They do not interfere with each other, because each one is a separate WhatsApp contact. A family might use FamAI for the parent’s questions and Athnova Care for the daily safety loop; ANSR’s timeline can hold the notes of a visiting nurse while Athnova Care does the morning question. Two daily check-ins from two services, though, will annoy most parents — pick one for that job.
Questions families ask
Which WhatsApp service is best for elderly parents in India?
It depends on the job. For a daily safety signal with a phone call when they go quiet, Athnova Care. For a chat assistant the parent talks to, FamAI. For a shared care record across siblings and caregivers, ANSR HealthAI. All three need nothing installed on the parent’s phone.
Do FamAI or ANSR HealthAI phone my parent if they do not answer?
Neither lists phone calls on its website as of October 2026; both work in WhatsApp. Athnova Care phones the parent in 25 countries, then alerts the family, then a neighbour.
Is there a free WhatsApp check-in for parents?
Athnova Care’s free plan covers one parent’s daily check-in, family alerts, SOS and the emergency card. ANSR has a free Basic plan after a 90-day trial. FamAI is free to join during its launch.
Does Athnova Care work for parents outside India?
Yes. Parents can live in any country; the messages and calls are in their language and alerts quote that country’s emergency number. Refills and lab orders are arranged in India only.
