The short answer
Sentio Care is a daily phone call: at a time the family chooses, an AI voice rings the parent, asks how they are and whether they took their medicines, listens for changes in how they sound, and sends the family a summary on WhatsApp minutes later. Athnova Care is a daily WhatsApp check-in with a safety loop around it: one message in the parent’s language with three buttons, a reminder if there is no tap, a phone call if there is still nothing, then an alert to the family and to the neighbour or relative you chose. Sentio’s pages describe Hindi and English and Indian prices; Athnova Care works in 21 languages wherever the parent uses WhatsApp.

What Sentio does well
It reaches a parent who will never tap a button: the phone rings, a voice asks, the parent talks. For a parent who is hard of typing, lonely, or happier speaking than reading, a daily conversation is a real thing, and the family gets a written summary without having to be on the call. Its site also lists listening for changes in the parent’s voice over time, which no message can do. It is priced for India, in rupees, with a trial that costs nothing up front.
What Athnova Care does differently
Athnova Care was built for a family spread across countries: the child in New Jersey, Toronto, London or Dubai, the parent in Lucknow, Chennai, Lahore, Manila, São Paulo or Bucharest. So the check-in goes out in the parent’s own language (21 languages), on the app they already open fifty times a day — WhatsApp — or, for a parent without it, as an ordinary phone call where they press 1. Silence is treated as a signal: a reminder, then a call, then the family, then a neighbour or relative who can knock on the door. Alerts quote the emergency number of the country the parent lives in, never a generic one.
Around that loop sit the things families abroad spend their evenings on: medicines and refills, readings and lab reports, an emergency card that opens offline, and a doctor-ready summary every month. None of it diagnoses or advises; the parent’s own doctor stays in charge.
Which one for your family
- Your parent in India speaks Hindi or English, would rather talk than tap, and you want a daily summary of how they sounded: Sentio.
- Your parent uses WhatsApp every day and would find a daily phone call intrusive: Athnova Care.
- Your parent speaks Tamil, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Punjabi, Urdu or another of 21 languages: Athnova Care.
- Your parent lives outside India, or your family is spread across countries and everyone should see the same update: Athnova Care.
- You want silence to end with a call to a neighbour, not only a message to you: Athnova Care.
- You want the free option first: Athnova Care’s free plan for one parent has no time limit; Sentio’s site lists a 14-day trial.
Can they be combined?
Yes, technically: Sentio and Athnova Care do not interfere with each other. In practice two daily check-ins annoy most parents, so pick one for the morning question. Some families use Athnova Care for a parent abroad or one who does not speak English, and Sentio for a relative in the United States who prefers it.
Questions families ask
Is Sentio Care an app?
Its site describes a service that phones the parent and messages the family on WhatsApp, with a family dashboard on the Premium plan; the parent installs nothing.
Does Athnova Care phone my parent every day like Sentio?
It can: a parent without WhatsApp, or who prefers it, gets a short recorded check-in by phone in their language, answered on the keypad. For most parents the daily question arrives on WhatsApp and the phone call is the follow-up when they have not replied.
Which is cheaper?
Sentio’s site listed ₹699 a month per parent in October 2026, with a ₹299 launch price. Athnova Care is free for one parent on the free plan; the full plan with calls, neighbours, readings and summaries is $12 a month or $99 a year for the whole family.
Does either diagnose or give medical advice?
Athnova Care does not: it records what the parent says and sends it to the family and, in the monthly summary, to the doctor. Sentio’s pages describe health and medicine questions and symptom follow-ups; read its terms for what it does with the answers.
